If you manage a large fleet of cars or trucks, there are of course a variety of engine parts and other concerns like your tires that you will need to do regular maintenance and repair on. But beyond the essentials that make your fleet go, don't forget to keep an eye on each vehicle's air conditioner as well, especially as the temperature warms up this spring and into the summer. Here are some signs that you might need to order car air conditioning replacement hoses or otherwise need to do some maintenance on your fleet's A/C system.

Air is Coming Through the Vents But It's Not the Right Temperature

A situation that might require immediate maintenance or repair would be if your blower is sending air through the vents but it's not cool at all. This could be a sign that your A/C's hose has fully failed and the refrigerant is leaking out or otherwise not able to get the job done. There could be other issues like a clogged air filter or maybe you are low on refrigerant, but check the hose first. No driver wants to sweat through the warmer days of spring or this summer with an A/C that can't keep them cool.

You Can Visually See That a Hose Has a Frayed Connection or Other Defect and May Be in Danger of Failing Soon

Maybe your air conditioner still gets the job done, but you can see visual signs that things are not well. Visually inspect your A/C hose at every oil change and make sure the hose is not frayed or showing any kind of cracks either near the connection point or elsewhere along the hose. These signs of trouble could allow you to replace the hose before an actual leak or other issue develops.

You Notice Your Fuel Efficiency Dropping and the A/C Taking Longer and Longer to Get the Job Done

Another way to tell that there might be a growing issue or problem with your vehicle's air conditioning system is if you feel like the air conditioner is taking longer and longer to get the car to the right temperature and you can sense that your fuel efficiency is being affected as a result. Again, the issue could be as simple as changing the A/C filter, but give each part under the hood a close look and make any adjustments needed. Contact a vendor of car air conditioning replacement hoses, filters and other parts to stock up on spare parts in case you ever need them
